Soo good and reasonable prices. Wait for bbq was not long. Hot plate and they are generous with their portions! The food was soooo good! Had short ribs and it was perfect.

Lunch entree in question is Loco Moco...
What is Loco Moco? Bed of white rice, covered with gravy with hamburger steak with over easy eggs on top.
I've had many Loco Mocos in my life and this Island Grill is one of the more appetizing ones I've had.
In my opinion gravy is the key and it's creamy, it's pleasantly salty and it ties the whole dish together.
The hamburger steak... they could've kept it plain and not season the hamburger steak and you wouldn't have heard any complaints from me, but the taste was align with of a sausage patty because it was so flavorful. The egg it's just a garden variety cooked over easy egg really not worth mentioning...
I recommend this dish and I am happy I ordered it
Thank you

So their portion is fine but their meat doesn't taste actually grilled. It tastes like they cooked it first like in a crock pot or something. Their chicken is essentially almost pulled chicken.

First time order, it's pretty good.
The need is tender and juicy.
Love it
It's big portion, so I have leftover for next day -

I was walking by when I wasn't even hungry and the photo of the Lau Lau caught my eye. After hanging out at the mall for over an hour, I decided to have a snack. Oh wow, they also have spam musubi? Sign me up.
I was very disappointed. The taro/luau leaf was very sparse so the ratio was 90% meat and 10% leaf. I would have preferred a bit more to balance out the amount of meat in it. The meat was also very dry which tells me it's probably not something often ordeted. The brown rice tasted like they didn't wash it prior to cooking it, and it was overcooked as well - very unappetizing. The spam musubi was ok. The spam was grilled a bit too crispy for my liking and the cut was too thick. I would have preferred if they made it into two separate pieces, then it would have been more manageable.
I was nostalgic for the amazing Lau Lau in Hawaii, but this missed the mark.
